As if birds the BTUs
Of conversation.

Yellow ground cover
Confused by the mild weather,
Peers out along the

Driveway - we see it
From a kitchen without walls.
As if wildflowers

February’s snow.
Walls come up, roofs get shingles,
Birds and flowers seen

Through windows - new bones
Of forever home - a speck
On nature’s timeline.
