Issue #98
Half the lamps in the
House still lack light bulbs, a fact
I’m reminded of
Each time I twist a
Switch, expect luminescence
In a room without
Boxes anymore
But no art on walls either -
Settled as heartbeats.
Moving, grieving share
Stages - now we’re bargaining.
I made a deal with
A goldfinch - the hearts
Of tired sunflowers for
The electric pulse
Waves pushed by bird wing
Through the meadow. Who needs a
Light bulb when you have
A window. Who needs
Art on the wall - it’s breathing
Everywhere you look.
